Released
PodSteer v0.7.0
PodSteer's desktop framework, Wails v3, has left beta, and PodSteer now builds on its stable release. That brings the framework's security fixes and its platform fixes since the beta PodSteer was pinned to; what PodSteer does is unchanged from v0.6.1.
Before you upgrade
What you need to know.
- Nothing to do.
- Homebrew users: brew update, then brew upgrade --cask podsteer.
What changed
Framework
- Wails v3.1.0, the stable line, in place of v3.0.0-beta.25. Its v3.0.0 release fixes every published Wails v3 security advisory that affected the beta PodSteer used; one, about child frames on Linux, is fixed only in part upstream and concerns frames, which PodSteer's interface does not use.
- Linux keeps the same GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1 libraries, so the .deb, .rpm and AppImage need nothing new from your distribution.
- Windows: podsteer.exe now carries its product name, version and publisher, so they show under Properties > Details; earlier builds left that tab blank.
Dependencies
- The interface's toolkit and tooling: Svelte 5.57.3, svelte-check 4.7.8 and current icons.
- The licence inventory is regenerated for the new set, and every item in it is approved.
