Released
PodSteer v0.4.0
A release about consistency. Security gets a section of its own in the navigator, Permissions, Helm and Security use the same table every list does, and the Helm release panel is rebuilt to look and work like an object's details. The update check now keeps what it found across a restart.
Before you upgrade
What you need to know.
- Nothing to do: settings carry over.
- Homebrew users: brew update, then brew upgrade --cask podsteer.
What changed
Security
- A Security section in the navigator: Posture, Vulnerabilities and Permissions, each a page of its own.
- Permissions is a full-width table, with Can I… and Who holds a role as toolbar dialogs that show their kubectl equivalent.
- Status icons instead of badges: red for critical, amber for warning, blue for normal.
Helm
- The release panel has the detail panel's shell: Overview, Values, Manifest, Notes and Commands tabs.
- The Overview is built from Helm's labels and reads nothing; opening Values, Manifest or Notes reads that one revision. There is no separate Read button any more.
- Values and Manifest open in a larger window, and the explanations moved behind the help button.
Tables and the application
- Permissions, Helm and Security have search, sorting, paging, a column chooser and CSV export, like every other list.
- A release found by the daily update check is remembered across a restart, and switching the check back on checks at once.
- RBAC findings read as plain text, and a log filter with several terms highlights every one of them.
